The position requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related field; 3 years’ experience in job position or related engineering roles, working on engineering projects. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Job Duties:
Provides manufacturing and customer support on tool and die components. Create and review CAD models and prints, support new product development, product improvements, sales & customer training, product related troubleshooting with customers, and estimator and designer support for product specials. Products include, but not limited to, CAM’s, wear plates, guide pins and bushings, hydraulics, in-die tapping, rotary benders, and ball bearing retainer cages.
The employee will travel approximately 1–2 times per year within the State of Michigan, primarily to the Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Bellaire areas, as well as to Ohio (primarily Dayton), Illinois, and Indiana states. Travel will be required to Dayton Lamina Corporation’s corporate office in Dayton, Ohio, an affiliated manufacturing company that provides corporate, engineering, operational, and strategic support to the Bellaire facility. Visits to the Dayton office may include attending project planning meetings, engineering reviews, capital investment discussions, operational coordination meetings, training sessions, and other business activities related to manufacturing operations. The employee may also travel to vendor, supplier, and customer locations as necessary to support business operations. Such visits may include supply chain component manufacturers, raw material suppliers whose products are used directly in manufacturing processes at the Bellaire facility, and equipment manufacturers or service providers supporting capital projects assigned to the employee. These trips are necessary for project planning, technical evaluations, equipment review and acceptance, supplier coordination, process improvement initiatives, and the implementation of manufacturing and capital investment projects at the Bellaire facility.

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Technician with robust Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience who is ready to take the next step in their career by leading quality initiatives and supporting the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the department. Whether you hold a formal degree or have equivalent experience, your ability to analyze, measure, and ensure quality standards will make you a vital part of our team.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on CMM operation, quality standards, and adherence to SOPs to ensure consistent quality practices.
• A degree in a related field is a plus but not required—relevant work experience will be highly valued.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
